REGION 1 CHAMPIONSHIPS 2018
RESERVE CHAMPIONS 3rd LEVEL MUSICAL FREESTYLE
We went into our new third level freestyle & DW and I missed the champion ribbon by 0.1% in a class of 19.
Our fourth level ride the canter work was some of our strongest and most consistent I’ve had with her. We finished 6th, only 0.4 away from third place in another competitive and closely placed class.
Also at Region 1 Championships this year were two more freestyles that the music had been designed by Guardian Dressage:
Tina Cook with Carbonero- 4th place in 1st level Musical Freestyle
Kim Clark with Duevaldez- 5th place in 3rd level Musical Freestyle
Both were the first placing Adult Amateurs in their respective classes and earned qualifying scores to the US Dressage Finals.
At the CBLM Championship the first weekend of October, Carol Wertz rode her lovely mare Melanie to another musical arrangement by Guardian Dressage for her training level MFS we put together in about 3 weeks. She placed 2nd overall in her class and won the high point AA MFS award!
2018 US DRESSAGE FINALS
10th place 3rd LEVEL MUSICAL FREESTYLE
Dalwhinney and I placed 10th in the Open 3rd Level Freestyle at Nationals!
We are thrilled to head home with a ribbon! It means even more to us since we created our own choreography and music. I made some last minute changes which didn’t quite work in our favor but we will come back stronger and more prepared next year! Competing against so many talented and experienced pairs at a show of this caliber is extremely motivating. We are excited to continue to improve and develop our choreography and music for next year.
Tina Cook and her stallion Carbonero XCVI also competed at the US Dressage Finals in her first level freestyle with the musical design by Guardian Dressage, and finished 8th place with a 70.344%!
Thank you to everyone who helped get us here and who was cheering for us and a special thank you to our sponsor HorZe Equestrian for the incredible gear!
